Closing of the Bauhaus - Iwao Yamawaki - Framed Picture 11 x 14

Iwao Yamawaki was a Japanese photographer and architect who trained at the Bauhaus.

He studied architecture at the Tokyo School of Fine Arts. After his graduation he worked as an architect for a construction firm and began to take photographs.

He interrupted his architectural career in 1930 and travelled to Germany, and studied at the Bauhaus in Dessau.

Iwao Yamawaki had a strong interest in architectural photography and took many photographs of the exterior and interior of the famous Bauhaus Dessau building complex. He remained until the Bauhaus Dessau closed at the end of August 1932.
