In general, the terms "dove" and "pigeon" are used somewhat interchangeably. Pigeon is a French word that derives from the Latin pipio, for a "peeping" chick, while dove is a Germanic word that refers to the bird's diving flight. In ornithological practice, "dove" tends to be used for smaller species and "pigeon" for larger ones. The species most commonly referred to as "pigeon" is the rock dove. Pigeons and doves are likely the most common birds in the world.

Hydrangea (common names hydrangea or hortensia) is a genus of flowering plants native to southern and eastern Asia and the Americas. They can be either deciduous or evergreen, though the widely cultivated temperate species are all deciduous.
