Josephine Baker (Freda Josephine McDonald)was an American-born French dancer, singer, and actress, who came to be known in various circles as the "Black Pearl," "Bronze Venus" "Jazz Cleopatra", and even the "Creole Goddess".

Baker was the first black woman to star in a major motion picture, Zouzou, and to become a world-famous entertainer. Baker refused to perform for segregated audiences in the United States and is noted for her contributions to the Civil Rights Movement. She was offered unofficial leadership in the movement in the United States by Coretta Scott King, following Martin Luther King, Jr.'s assassination, but she refused.

 She was also known for assisting the French Resistance during World War II,

 Zyg Brunner, also known as Zygismund Brunner, or Sigismond Leopold  was a Polish draftsman, caricaturist, and illustrator.

He submitted works to the Gazette du Bon Ton and created illustrations for children's books such as Grimm's Fairy Tales, as well as for risqué novels. He worked for La Vie Parisienne, Fantasio, La Baïonnette, Le Rire, Le Sourire, and many other publications.
