The industrial age blackened the landscape for over a century and a half. Now many of the iron and coal works are abandoned and the Landscape has gently renewed itself, as can be seen as this last 0-6-0 saddle tanker passes on.
The Picture does show grain due to the type of photograph it was reproduced from, although this does tend to add atmosphere to the picture
